Max Schreiber is best known publicly through his connection to one of Hollywood’s most recognisable acting families. Biographical records identify him as a son of Tell Schreiber and Lorraine Reaveley and as the half-brother of actor, director and screenwriter Liev Schreiber. He is also part of the same family branch as actor Pablo Schreiber, whose credits include The Wire, Orange Is the New Black, American Gods and Halo. Unlike Liev and Pablo, however, Max has not built a widely documented public career. That distinction matters because online searches often blur verified family information with unsupported biography.

Who Is Max Schreiber?
The strongest publicly accessible biographical record for Max Schreiber is brief. MyHeritage’s Biographical Summaries of Notable People identifies him as male, lists Tell Schreiber as his father and Lorraine Reaveley as his mother, and names Liev, Will and Pablo Schreiber among his brothers. It specifically describes Max as a half-brother of Liev Schreiber.
Beyond those family details, there is little dependable public information about Max himself. Reliable sources do not provide a consistently verified date of birth, education history, occupation, spouse, children, business interests or entertainment credits. That makes Max different from the celebrity relatives through whom his name is usually discovered.
The lack of information should not be filled with assumptions. It indicates that Max has remained outside a highly documented public life.
How Max Schreiber Is Related to Liev Schreiber
Max and Liev Schreiber share the same father, Tell Carroll Schreiber III, but have different mothers. Liev was born to Tell Schreiber and Heather Milgram, while Max is listed as the son of Tell Schreiber and Lorraine Reaveley. This makes Max and Liev paternal half-brothers.
Liev was born in San Francisco in 1967 and became known for a career spanning theatre, film, television, directing and screenwriting. His credits include the Scream films, The Manchurian Candidate, Spotlight, Ray Donovan and The Perfect Couple. The Television Academy describes him as an American actor, director, producer and screenwriter.
Max, by contrast, has no comparable body of public entertainment work attached to his name. His significance in search results is therefore familial rather than professional.
The Schreiber Family Is Larger Than Two Famous Brothers
Public attention often reduces the family story to Liev and Pablo Schreiber because both became successful actors. The wider family is larger.
Lorraine Reaveley’s biographical record lists four sons: Pablo, Charles, Will and Max Schreiber. MyHeritage separately identifies Max as a son of Lorraine and lists Tell Schreiber as his father.
Pablo Schreiber is the best-known of Max’s brothers from the Lorraine Reaveley branch. Born in British Columbia in 1978, Pablo is the son of Lorraine Reaveley, a Canadian psychotherapist, and Tell Schreiber, an American actor. IMDb identifies Liev as Pablo’s older paternal half-brother.
Pablo built a substantial career across stage and screen. He received a Tony Award nomination for Awake and Sing! and later became widely known through The Wire, Orange Is the New Black, American Gods and Halo.
Tell Schreiber Connects the Family Branches
Tell Carroll Schreiber III was an actor whose credits included the 1976 film The Keeper. Entertainment biographies document him as the father of both Liev and Pablo Schreiber.
Liev’s mother was Heather Milgram, an artist. Liev spent part of his early childhood in Canada before moving with his mother to New York following his parents’ separation. In a 2024 interview with The Guardian, he described growing up with a single mother in New York and spoke about the importance of his maternal grandfather.
Pablo’s mother, Lorraine Reaveley, is described as a Canadian psychotherapist. Pablo and Liev did not grow up together in the conventional sense. In a 2011 interview with The Daily Beast, Pablo discussed getting to know Liev later in life and recognising elements of their shared father in one another.
Max belongs to this same family network but has not publicly narrated his own experience of it. There is no reliable basis for assuming that his relationship with Liev or Pablo mirrors the relationship those actors have described.
Why So Little Is Known About Max Schreiber
Max Schreiber fits a familiar celebrity-family search pattern: public curiosity is driven by famous relatives rather than a public career of his own.
His name appears in family summaries and genealogical records, yet there is no substantial verified interview archive or professional biography attached to him. Being related to two prominent actors does not automatically make Max a public figure with a documented Hollywood career.
Public visibility is not evenly distributed within families. Liev and Pablo have interviews, award records, casting credits and official industry profiles because acting is their profession. Max does not have an equivalent public footprint. That makes restraint especially important when writing about him: absence of documentation is not evidence of a hidden career, relationship or financial status.
Claims about his age, profession, marital status or net worth therefore require caution.
Max Schreiber and Pablo Schreiber
Max is also identified as a brother of Pablo Schreiber. In Max’s MyHeritage record, Pablo appears in the relatives section, while Lorraine Reaveley’s record separately lists Max and Pablo among her sons. Together, those records support the immediate family connection.
Pablo’s public career offers a clear contrast with Max’s privacy. He established himself on Broadway and television, later playing Master Chief in Halo.
That difference in visibility reflects only what is publicly documented. Max appears to have kept his life away from the entertainment press, while Pablo’s profession necessarily placed him in front of audiences.
Does Max Schreiber Work in Hollywood?
There is no well-supported evidence that Max Schreiber has an acting career comparable with Liev or Pablo. Major entertainment and awards sources documenting Liev and Pablo do not establish a notable screen or theatre career for Max.
Shared names can also create mistaken identities online. “Max Schreiber” may refer to different people in professional, academic or creative contexts. Someone with the same name should not automatically be identified as Liev Schreiber’s half-brother unless a reliable source explicitly makes that connection.
For readers searching specifically for Liev’s relative, the clearest verified description remains simple: Max Schreiber is a member of the wider Schreiber family and a paternal half-brother of Liev Schreiber.
Is Max Schreiber’s Net Worth Public?
No trustworthy published estimate establishes Max Schreiber’s net worth. Because his occupation, investments and financial affairs are not reliably documented in the public record, assigning him a wealth figure would be speculative.
The finances of Liev or Pablo Schreiber also provide no legitimate basis for estimating Max’s wealth.
Why Interest in the Schreiber Family Continues
Interest in Max largely reflects the prominence of Liev and Pablo.
Liev’s recent work has continued to keep the family name visible. He won the 2025 Critics Choice Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television for The Perfect Couple.
Max’s story shows the limits of celebrity-family reporting: a famous surname can generate curiosity, but responsible biography still depends on verifiable information.
Conclusion
Max Schreiber is notable primarily because of his place in the wider Schreiber family. Verified records identify him as a son of Tell Schreiber and Lorraine Reaveley, a brother of Pablo Schreiber and a paternal half-brother of Liev Schreiber. Unlike his well-known acting relatives, Max has remained largely outside the public spotlight. His family connection is documented, but much of his personal and professional life is not publicly verified.
